We provide a face-to-face stop smoke service giving regular support for 12 weeks and advice to help you quit. This also includes the provision of Nicotine Replacement Therapy or Varenicline ( Champix ) dependant on suitability for up to 12 weeks. We also offer a cut-down programme over 6 weeks for those contemplating giving up smoking but not sure yet if they want to quit.

The common ailments service offers patients access to free NHS advice and treatment for common ailments that cannot be managed by self care.

If you need one of your regular medicines in an emergency when you are unable to contact your doctor, we may be able to help. We must stress that this can only be done in genuine emergencies and it may incur a charge.

If you have out of date or unwanted medicines, both prescription or over the counter drugs, don’t bin them or flush them. You can take your unwanted or out of date medicines back to your pharmacy for safe disposal, and it’s completely FREE. Each year enormous quantities of unused and expired medications are dumped into bins or flushed down toilets and sinks. The effects on the environment and human health are unclear but evidence is pointing to the presence of chemicals from prescriptions and over-the-counter medications in soil, drinking water and the surrounding environment. This is useful because: you don't need an appointment our pharmacy are open outside GP surgery hours our pharmacy have a private consultation room you can ask about free prescription collection services, peak flow checks, stop smoking and losing weight advice. Ask the pharmacist how to get the best from your asthma medicines. You can ask your pharmacist about the asthma medicines you've been prescribed. This is useful if you have concerns about things like side effects, using your inhaler, or your inhaler not working properly. You can also ask about any over-the-counter medicines you're taking to help your asthma, such as anti-histamines for hay fever.

The pharmacist and our trained assistants are available for advice on all medicines and minor ailments, in private if required. We can also give you advice on how to live a healthy life, for example, advice on how to stop smoking, or healthy diets. We can direct you to other sources of advice and assistance if we cannot help you ourselves.
